I see Computers, You must sell computer accessories

We run an internet cafe but some people think that a shop that is filled with computers must sell computer accessories. Some even ask whether we sell micro sd card. The most common is pendrive.

So hubby was thinking maybe we should sell some computer accessories since we do provide computer repairs. But then the costs of buying all those accessories are quite high. Money, money. (sigh).

3 More Months to Christmas

In 3 more months we will be celebrating Christmas. Celebrating the birth of our Saviour. This year, we might be celebrating Christmas in Ipoh if God permits. It is not that simple now to take leave and travel especially hubby has no assistant now. We pray that by then God will send someone trustworthy to work for us. Then I can start planning baking some Christmas cookies for my in laws in Ipoh.

Creating Better Ambiance

As I was sitting at the internet cafe, my eyes wonder at the flags hanging down from the wall. I wish I am an artist and good at using air tools then I will definitely repaint hubby’s shop to create a better ambiance.

With another internet cafe opened nearby, many of his younger customers have gone to play there. But praise God that the effect is not so great that we are facing losses. I just hope God will send many more customers to our internet cafe.

Put on hold

Eversince I stopped working, I have to put on hold many of my plans. One of it is changing our car parts. My husband’s car need a new gear box. The present gear box can still be used but it cannot enter into the fifth gear. So the highest gear that we can drive our car is the fourth gear, which can be irritating if we want to drive fast. We also need to change the car seat covers which are already torn in many places. That too we have to put on hold. Will have to wait until we have the extra income before we can implement all our plans.

Holistic service

Hubby just bought two HDMI cables for the shop. Okay, I have no idea what HDMI stands for. He told me that HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. Okay, that’s what it stands for but I still have no idea what it means. Hahaha, I am not into all these gadgets thing.

Hubby said that some of his customers brought in their handphone memory card so that they can download music files and transfer them into their handphone memory card. However, in order for them to do that, they would need to have the correct HDMI cable and a card reader. That’s why he bought the cables so that he can provide extra quality service to his customers. He wants his customers to be happy and become return customers. That is profit in long term for the business

Preached in GBM for the 3rd Time

My hubby preached in the church last week. He had preached there twice before this. He told me that he has mixed feelings when asked to preach. There is the feeling of anxious of not knowing how the preaching will turn out to be. Yet he also feel excited of being given the chance to preach again and he looks forward to be able to preach regularly.

In the previous church, hubby had preached on more occasions and all his preaching is recorded and taped. I am not sure whether the church has tape drives but they keep all the recorded VCDs and tapes in the church library. I was surprised to be given my hubby’s preaching tape after the church service. Unfortunately, I do not have any tape player when I can play and listen to my hubby’s message.

Disciplining

As parents, no matter how much we love our children, we cannot give in to all their wants and desires. We will spoil them. I know of a parent that gave in to everything that the son wants and he ended up in drug rehab centre and until today, his father can’t comprehend why his son could do that to him.

I am not saying that I am perfect in disciplining my children. I am still learning and I am still caning when the need arises. :P I do not want them to end up needing drug rehab or alcohol rehab. Many times if I am in a generous mood, I always give in to their wants. Especially when it comes to buying toys for them. But when it comes to manners and bad characters, I don’t a give chance. Like how my parent brought me up.

He Was Worried Sick

All this while he never worry about my safety; at least he never show it before. I am an independent girl; being a first born, it is kinda expected of me. So I know how to take care of myself pretty well. Hubby also never worries coz he always believe that God will always protects me.

Yesterday I saw his worried face for the first time. Yes! He worried about my safety. He waited at the door for my return. Hey! He actually really love me. Not that he never did but it really shows yesterday. :D

You see, I was with him at this shop till it closes, after 12mn. I left before him in my car and him on his bike. I got really hungry on the way back and decided to pack Fried Kuay Teow from a Malay restaurant. Due to that, he reached home before me which caused him to worry. I didn’t tell him and I can’t tell him coz I did not carry any cellphone.

I was bad! I laugh knowing that he was worried about me! Now he knows how worried was I almost everyday waiting him to return from work everyday!

One Burden Lifted Up

God answered our desperate cries and lifted up a burden from our shoulder. Finally one of our apartments is rented. Not the price that we want but we are still very thankful that we do not have to pay the full amount of the month home loan repayment.

The apartment is rented to a Jordanian family; a wife and 2 beautiful girls aged 3 and 2. The father is working as a lecturer and study at the same time. He is taking his PhD in English because they don’t offer English PhD in Jordon. I was surprised to learn from him that his pay in Jordan wasn’t that good. For a BA, their salary is only $1k a month. I thought Arab countries are rich. He told me, only the Gulf countries are rich, not all Arab countries.

He Runs

Is your husband a sportsman? Mine, almost every member in his family are athletic. In school, they are famous for long distance running. I guess the kampong lifestyle where they always run with the dogs to chase the rats out their paddy fields helped to increase their stamina. That is why you see those marathon runners are mostly from Africa. They run from place to place.

Another Internet Cafe

Hubby is planning to start another branch near the beach if God bless him with the start up capital and if the government gives the green light to open an internet cafe there. That has always been his dream from the first day he started the business. He dreams of having a few Starhawk Internet Café around our hometown and in KL if God permits.

Furthermore, the income from just one shop is not sufficient to support our growing family; even more when I am a SAHM now. The burden to earn income for the family is on his shoulder now. As for now, I cannot fully concentrate in raising up and homeschooling our children because I am also helping lighten hubby’s burden by doing some review work online.
