On Our 10th Wedding Annivesary

us This is us on our 10th wedding anniversary. This year we have a 4mo baby tagging along. ;) We had lunch at Kenny Roger’s Roaster. I browsed through our previous anniversary post, we ate at Kenny Roger’s during last year’s wedding anniversary. Hubby picked the place!

Before lunch, we have a good massage session at Phoenix Health Care & Foot Reflexology Centre, Melaka Raya. Hubby went for the 2 hours Body Massage with Oil and I had 1.5 hours of Foot Reflexology while carrying and nursing my 4mo baby! She was quite an entertainment to the Myanmar masseur.

We actually planned to watch movie, Thor but decided otherwise because the show is in 3D. Not comfy wearing the 3D glasses with our specs on. So, after lunch we had McD Sundae and Pretzel Stick with Eclairs for dessert. Then we head home to fulfill our parental duty; making sure the school goers complete their homework, and eat their dinner before we go out again for dinner.

satay celup

We had Satay Celup for dinner; 16 sticks each. ;) I wanted to eat Satay Celup at Capitol but by the time we reached the shop, we saw lotsa people queuing outside the shop to wait for an empty table. No-uh, not my style to queue for food, with or without baby around. I will only queue for food at the canteen or if I have no other food to eat (kinda life n death situation). We ended up at Ban Lee Siang, Jln Ong Kim Wee for our Satay Celup dinner; plenty of empty tables.

We do watch movie. Not in the cinema but in the comfort of our room. We watched Waiting Forever.

That’s about it on our 10th Wedding Anniversary. :D

Birthday Treat for My Firstborn

My firstborn daughter turned 8 years old yesterday. Instead of bringing everyone out for a dinner, we brought her alone; just mommy, daddy, baby and herself. It is her special day and we granted her wants. She wanted to eat wedding food. We treat her with these yummilicious dishes.

sweet sour pork

Sweet and Sour Pork

salad chicken

Fragrance Chicken Salad

cheese beehoon

Creamy Cheese Beehoon with Tiger Prawn

seafood fried rice

 Seafood Fried Rice

I bought for her a roller skate and a book, Big Nate (she has been requesting me to buy her this book for quite sometime already).

roller skate

We still walk around on a polished, black cement flooring. Dunno when we can afford to change to pergo flooring. ;)

big nate

The Malay book is an incentive when she did well in her Chinese spelling.

But she told me that she preferred the book more than the roller skate and wanted to spend her birthday Angpow money to buy more books. Since I have RM50 MPH voucher, we brought her to MPH to buy some books of her choice. She got all these and paid RM44.70 on top of the RM50 vouchers.

books

While at MP, she couldn’t resist the smell of freshly baked Famous Amos cookies, so we allowed her to buy 100g of it. If on other days, I would tell her that I will bake for her later. Not worth the money spent for just a 100g.

That’s about it. You know what, I still remember the labour pain that I had to go through to give birth to this beautiful daughter of mine. It was the toughest and most painful birth out of 5. Hubby still remembered the “dirty job” that he did.

My Hubby Can Cook!

sambal fried rice

All this while I thought my husband only knows how to cook instant noodle and fried eggs. He surprised me by cooking the above Sambal Fried Rice all by himself. Only after 10 years of marriage and 5 kids he cooked for me for the very first time. That was the best fried rice I ever had. :D

Makan Fellowship Every Month

The mothers in my church suggested that we have Makan Fellowship (fellowship over food) every month and each of us mother take turns to host it at our home every month. It all started when one of mothers invited us for lunch after church service. We had a great time enjoying the delicious home-cooked food and the fellowship. Then one of the mother’s jokingly asked “So, next month whose turn?” All of us agreed that it is a good idea. Instead of scratching our head where to go for lunch after church, we just head to the church member’s house for a good meal.

We had Makan fellowship last month to celebrate the 1st birthday of a pretty girl named Leticia. This month will be my son 2nd birthday. I am still contemplating whether to invite them for Makan Fellowship. Can I manage with a newborn? I am not sure.

Missionary in the Making

With GBM, hubby got the opportunity to go for more mission trip. The pastor of the church is going out to visit churches and families around Indonesia and East Malaysia. Since they are many of them, the pastor is training hubby up to lead others to these places. Hubby’s training begins with following pastor and another pastor of another church to travel around the globe to support and encourage the leaders and members of other churches.

As for me, I wish I could tag along but we can’t afford to drag all of 5 children with us. I’ll be here blogging and writing acnefree reviews while hubby have fun serving the body of Christ. Maybe one day, when the time comes for hubby to go for long term mission, we will uproot ourselves and go.

On Our 10th Marriage Annivesary

Yesterday we celebrated our 10th Marriage Anniversary; the day we legally become husband and wife. Being someone from a legal background (my dear hubby), he prefers to observe this day compared to our wedding day that was on May 12. I prefer to celebrate May 12; the day I wore my beautiful wedding gown and walk down the aisle with my dad. In the end, we got 2 anniversaries to celebrate. Yay!

At first we were quite disappointed that we won’t be able to celebrate this day because hubby got to work till 9pm. The day before yesterday, hubby managed to get his ex-part time staff to come in for a few hours while we go pamper ourselves on our special day. :D

Shabu Shabu

We went for our massages, then to lunch at a Japanese restaurant; San Ramen at Mahkota Parade. I had Shabu-Shabu and hubby, Salmon Ramen. The food is kinda bland to our taste bud. Japanese food is not for us. We then bought some bread at Pattifrance.

Then we went to Bunga Raya to buy some felt materials for me to make hair clips then we rush back home because hubby got to start work already.

Rasa Sayang Massage and Reflexology

That was where we were a few hours ago. Today we celebrated our 10th marriage anniversary and hubby brought us to look for a massage center to pamper ourselves a lil bit. We wanted to go back to the Dr Fish Spa center but it is no longer there. So, we just drove around Melaka Raya Business center till we found this Rasa Sayang which is opened for business. We saw a few but all of them are closed.

At Rasa Sayang, hubby went for the full body massage at RM40/hour and myself for the foot reflexology at RM31/hour. Later on the way back, we saw a few other center at that offers the same services at a cheaper rate. RM56 for 2 hours of body massage! I think we will go their on our wedding anniversary in May. :D

I like the setting of Rasa Sayang. Plasma TV in every room, nice comfy sofa, matouk linen and very fresh and clean environment. But we have problem communicating with the masseurs because all of them came from China and they understand very minimal English. Thank God they are patience enough to try to understand my broken Mandarin. ;)

19th Dating Anniversary

This year will be our 10th wedding anniversary but today we will be celebrating our 19th Dating Anniversary; the day we officially became a couple. Was it the day he said “I love You” or the day he kissed me? I can’t remember already!!!

Anyway, we are not giving gifts couple so there won’t be any gift exchange today; not even cordless drill batteries. Since he will be working tonight, we might just go for a lunch date with our newborn.

19th years and we have changed so much since then. The obvious is our size. Oh No! Let me rephrase, YOUR size. :P

Gong Xi Fa Cai

We had a joyous Chinese New Year this year. On the Chinese New Year’s Eve, the children had so much fun helping the adult wash the floor. We still have the black polished cement flooring; still waiting for laminate flooring sale to get a new flooring. Later that evening, we had our sumptuous reunion dinner consist of all the Nyonya food that you can think about. We ended the day with fireworks display to welcome the Year of the Golden Rabbit.

No Travel Plan for 2011

2011 is here. No travel plan this year though. Last year’s travel plans did not materialize because of hubby’s busyness with work. Business is not that busy. It is just that we do not have staff to cover for hubby when he is away. Maybe we will try to go some where near and new with the help of BIL’s portable gps this year. It will really be a challenge to travel with so many kids. I can’t wait for the day when we can leave all the kids behind and go for our 2nd honeymoon. This year we are going to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary but we will be stuck at home minding our beautiful children. :)

Christmas Present 2010

This year, we did not receive or give each other any Christmas present! Not even suunto vector which I planned to buy earlier for him. But we did buy Christmas present for our children, my MIL and maid. ;)

We have a better gift from the Almighty coming our way pretty soon. I’m pretty excited, and scared too. Gift from God comes with great responsibility. Don’t like cannot throw or give away. :P

Happy Birthday To Me!

Good Morning World!

Nothing special on my birthday except the kitchen renovation started today which made me woke up early. I only had 6 hours of sleep. I hope I can stay awake during Harry Porter later this afternoon.

Still have no idea what my birthday lunch and dinner will be. Don’t think hubby prepare any surprise birthday gift for me. He does not know what I want and he won’t simply buy me things coz previous experience taught him not too! hahaha.

My children expected me to buy them a gift. I have not thought of what to buy for them. I need to save up to buy textbooks for next years. Not cheap as my soon to be 5yo son will be going to private kindy. His books alone is more than RM700. Two of his sisters will be in primary school and their books’ cost is only 10% of his!

Anyway, Happy Birthday To Me!

He Shall Preach Again

God has been good to us. When hubby steps down from full time service four years ago, he decided to take up business. Four years passed by and we have seen God’s faithfulness in taking care of our needs. When hubby was working in the church, he was given the opportunity to preach once in a while. In the new church, God has open up new opportunities for him to preach. Of late, he was asked to preach regularly in the church as the church pastor travels to minister to other churches.

As for me, preaching is not an easy task. It is an honour that every preacher should carry out with great care. And every preacher knows that there he/she needs to put a balance between giving a purely inspirational and a Word based sermon. Sometimes there is a tendency to preach a topic that the listeners would be happy to hear. Heavy topics like Bible Prophecy or last days prophecies are definitely not for the beginners. One has to do a deep study on the subjects to really understand it before preaching it to the congregations.

There are times when I see hubby at loss as to what to preach. But when God has given him the topic, then I can see the excitement in him when he prepares his sermon. May the Holy Spirit speaks and do the convicting to every listener when His Word is preached.

Thank God for Breastmilk

I really thank God for allowing me to fully breastfeed my 4th child till he is 1 year old. Today my baby turns 18 months old; 1.5yo already! :) And I am still breastfeeding him when he wants to sleep. I still have breastmilk you know. :)

We save a lot when we don’t need to buy any formula milk for him! Milk is darn expensive these days and I just changed his formula milk from Enfagrow (i think it is the most expensive brand in the market) to Dumex; the milk that hubby and I grew up with.

Besides saving our moolah, breastmilk keeps my baby immune system strong and keeps me slim! hahaha. You can find out more about the benefit of breastfeeding at breast-milk.org. I need to go do my Saturday chores now. Tata!

Money Does Come Down From Heaven

I thought I would need sleeping pills to help me sleep after being slapped with a huge debt left by my tenant. God is Good. All the time! I prayed for Him to send some money from Heaven to help us pay for the bills that was left behind for us to settle. Like I mentioned many times before, we hardly have any savings! Our children has more money in their bank account that us! Oh no! We did not bank in our money there; those are their Angpows’ money. ;)

2 days ago, I received a long list of links order from an advertiser and more to come; not for my blogs but for the list of blogs that I sent to him sometime ago. This means that I will get 10% commission from the bloggers. :D

God actually sends money from Heaven! Halleluyah!

I have not receive any payment yet. I hope when everything is completed, the amount will be more than enough to pay for the outstanding bills.

When Others Fail You, Look for the Christians

Why arh, when people are in deep shit (pardon my language) and when their “own people” don’t want to help them. Not “cannot” know, “don’t want” to help them, they look for the Christians? Even though they hardly know the Christian. I think we Christians have made such a good impression on the non-Christians. They know that we will never say no when it comes to helping others in need.

So there is this lady; she was the owner of a Cosway shop here. The last we buy from her shop was like 4-5 years ago when I bought a bread maker from her. She knew hubby before that coz  hubby was a Cosway member through her and often buy from her when he was still practicing law; that was more than a decade ago. But she remembered that hubby is a Christian.

Recently she was in a big trouble. She owed 2 loan sharks a some of money. Her husband knew about it and kicked her out of the house. Currently, she is staying with a Christian friend. She borrowed the money from the loan shark to help a friend (not for herself know!!!). All these are what she told hubby. Hubby assumed that she is telling the truth.

When hubby told me that she called asking for help, I knew she wanted cash and only CASH; not prayer or a part-time job. Because that’s all that we can afford to give her. We need money too; for our roof (15k) and recently to pay TNB (2.5k). She is persistent in calling hubby.

A day after we were slapped with 2.5k of electricity bill left by my tenant, she called hubby asking for some cash. Hubby asked whether we can give some money to her. I did not answer him. I was very upset. I was thinking about how are we going to pay for the electricity bill and here a stupid lady (pardon my language again…very angry you know) who borrowed money from loan sharks wanted some cash. I felt like giving her a call to tell her that we have finance problem too. We too, need money! You want money, you work for it lar. I need a helper now. Come clean my house, I’ll pay you RM50/day! I don’t mind giving to those really in need; like those life and death situation.

So, did we give? Of course! We are Christian what. Must show good testimony. The best is to give when we have none. Remember the bible story about The Widow with 2 Coins? Luke 21.

Even though I am upset that hubby actually gave some money to her, I know deep inside that God will blessed us and help us settle our financial needs. We have Jesus, she has yet to know Him.

Malaysian First Astronaut Tied The Knot Today

Maybe couples are tying the know today. In my kampung itself, there are a few weddings going on. Maybe Chinese went to register their marriage today too. Our Malaysian First Astronaut did not want to miss this perfect 10 date either. I managed to watch for a few minutes the “acara bersanding” on TV3 just now. Looks like our Malaysian First Astronaut wedding is more grand than the wedding of the Sultans. He has royal guests from all around the world and 100 astronaut came to his wedding too. Sungguh bertuah. ;)

It is not just about Money

We planned to bless our part-time staff after our business loan has been paid up. We hope to be able to enjoy a decent dinner together but until today none of them can make themselves available for the occasion. I told hubby to just give them cash to replace that company dinner. But then, it is not about money. Everyone need money. We want this occasion to reflect how God has blessed the business and thank Him for His blessings.
