Most of hubby’s customer, those who have not seen me before thought that hubby is a Malay. Whenever hubby works the evening shift, I will come in to release him for a lil while for him to freshen up.
A few times when they come to the counter to borrow the compact flash memory card, they will asked whether I am a Chinese and whether hubby is a Chinese too.
Some assumes that I am hubby’s part-time worker’s wife.
If hubby’s part-time worker wife comes to the shop, I am sure they will think that she is hubby’s wife because he married an Indonesian lady!

Where will you be in the next 5 years? To some, the answer is easy and straight-forward. However, to me, the answer is not that straight-forward. I am not sure where I will be in the next five years down the road. “Aren’t you going to stay where you are and build up your family?” you may ask me. I will answer, “Most probably no”.
You see, when I first get to know my hubby, we know that we might be called to go somewhere else to serve God. As such, hubby quit his job as a lawyer and served in the church for seven years. After the seven years, he decided that it is best for him to move out from the church and do business before the next stage of our lives. We give ourselves four years for the business and now it is already in the third year. We are preparing ourselves and our family to be ready to go wherever God wants us to go. I must say, we are not doing pretty well in preparing ourselves for the ministry.
Business really takes a lot of hubby’s time and he is finding it difficult to be involved in the church that we are attending. Furthermore, with the fourth baby coming soon, things would definitely change. I know that when God calls us to move, we might have to hire a Moving Company to bring all our stuffs to the new place. When, I am not really sure. Will God calls us to move? That is His prerogative. When the Master instructs, the servants obey.
Where will I be in the next 5 years? Only God knows but for now, I am staying put.

Hubby told me that KFC in Giant is going to close shop middle of this year. Pizza Hut will follow suit by end of this year. The rental at Giant is absurd; RM30k a month for KFC! I think if Giant can attract a lot of people to shop at their shopping complex, KFC won’t close shop. Instead you will only see the crowds at Giant during Mega Sales. KFC is a good franchise opportunity but location is very important too.

We are looking for a good tv deals so that we can buy a few for the shop. Then we are going to hook them up with PS2. Hope this would be able to attract more customers.
With the economic slow down, our business is really affected. We are wondering where are our regulars went to? According to others who knew them, they are not at other internet cafe. I guess, they are saving their money for the future which looks quite bleak.
I hope, in all this, we the Christians will keep on believing that God will surely provide for us and not panic.

Hubby is looking for other small business opportunities. Income from one internet cafe is not enough to support our family. Hubby just found out from the hair saloon owner a few doors away from hubby’s shop that our government has a special grant to help small business that is just starting. Through this special grant, half of his rental for one year is subsided by the government. Felt regretted we didn’t know about this when we just started. So if we ever start another internet cafe or a computer shop, we will surely apply for this grant.

Praise God for His blessing.
Looks like I can take a peep at affordable term life insurance quotes soon.
I am really excited about the opportunity that is given to me now. I really hope it will last as long as possible.
I can’t disclose much here but if you are interested you can always hop over to my other blogs to find out about it.

Christmas isn’t that Merry for us this year. But we are glad that our children are very happy with their Christmas presents. The only present that we can afford to buy this year. No present for others though. Sorry ya; next year if the Lord blesses us with more income.
With the amount of daily sales, it seems that hubby won’t bring home any salary this month! And my blogging income is less than RM1k! *sigh* And we spent a lot this month; weddings, funerals, repairs, CNY clothings and school books.
Hubby received offers to become partner to start another internet cafe but we just don’t have the means to do so. If we have, I think I can even start coffee franchises!

I feel sad that the burden of earning for the family is on hubby’s shoulder now. Sales were not good last month and this month would be slow too due to the school holiday. Hubby did mention a few times that if I am still working, he can do this and do that with his income. Now we are depending on his income, so he can’t spend in on his business to buy more computers and office furniture.
He makes me feel regretful quitting my job!
If I want to go back to work, no one would employ me, because I am pregnant now. I have already reduced our expenses by sending our girls to cheaper kindy, reducing my mom’s allowance, less shopping trip, no new clothes for my girls except for special occasion.
How? Still not enough?
Worst come to worst, I will go back to work after my No. 4 is 6 months old and leave them under the care of the maid while I am at work.
Sometimes I wonder why we women would be willing to sacrifice our dreams for the sake of the family but not the men.

I am going to make full use of hubby’s shop to earn some extra income. After discussing with my mom, she agreed to help me bake Nyonya Pineapple Tarts and she also suggested that I sell cut fruits at hubby’s shop since we have a fridge there.
This weekend will be my youngest sister’s wedding dinner and we are going to serve Nyonya Pineapple Tarts as appetizer instead of the usual; peanuts. And I am going to slip my business card at the bottom of the plate stating that the tarts are for sale too!
Good idea or not?
Since I don’t have much and not a risk taker to try online trading even though I read so much about it, I shall try food business.

Hubby finally get the chance to cycle to work again.
This week, one of his part-timer is working from 6pm - 10pm. So he can cycle to work and cycle back home before night fall and drive back to the shop at 10pm.
This time, it got nothing to do with saving petrol but to exercise.
I hope that this will help him gain back his good health and slim down a lil bit!

Finally after a month hubby is back to his normal state of health but he is health is still very fragile. He is seriously thinking of employing a full time worker because if things go on like this; him working full day almost everyday, his health might be affected. He can feel that he is not as fit as before. If he can’t find a worker soon, he need to depend on might not sustain that long energy pills to keep him going!

Hubby’s internet shop is located near Giant Hypermarket where one of it tenants is Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant. When KFC just started operating, there is no free WiFi given out to their customers. A few months back, hubby noticed that a few students were sitting outside his shop using their laptops and accessing the internet. He was surprised as his shop does not offer any wireless connection services. Later he found out that the students are using the free WiFi connection by KFC.
Now, if I am the owner of KFC, this is a matter that should be taken seriously. I am sure KFC is offering the free WiFi as an incentive to attract customers to surf the net at their premise and at the same time they will buy some food or drinks. Well, this is an extra services that I am sure customers would appreciate. However, if the extra services can be used without the need to buy anything from KFC, it would definitely defeat the purpose of offering the extra services.
Hubby informed the manager about it but until now nothing has been done about it. Of course, the manager is not an expert in IT and would not know how to solve the problem. KFC should engage a reliable IT company like new york it services to ensure the setting up of the free WiFi is done correctly. Or maybe KFC should just pay hubby to do it for them.

How do you dressed to work? Basic common sense requires you to match your dressing style to your kind of job. You don’t, and it would be idiotic to wear a beautiful dress if you work in the automobile repair shop. And you don’t wear short pants and short sleeve T-shirt to work if you are working as the 5 stars hotel receptionist or bell boy. Common sense dictated it that you wear appropriate work clothing when working.

I am glad that the “almost hubby’s business partner” is working part-time at the shop. His name is Ramesh. Just Ramesh stated in his identity card. Weird eh.
“Almost” because the owner of the other internet café decided not to sell his business.
I am also glad to know that Ramesh is also attending the same church as us. So at least we know that he can be trusted. I really hope that he really fears God.
Ramesh is new in the IT business; if he has experience from NY IT services, wouldn’t that be a wonderful?
So that is why he is working part-time with hubby to gain as much knowledge as he could before starting his own internet café when the time comes.
As it is, I am enjoying sometime away from the shop and welcoming home a less tired husband. Maybe after a month, hubby will let him handle the shop all by himself and we can go dating again! I really miss that moment in my life. Soon when the baby comes out, that moment will be put aside a while.
I love children but sometimes, I just need to get away from them and just be US, me and him, he and me.

My hubby got an offer to buy one CC. CC means cyber cafe, not credit card. One CC owner who operated near hubby’s CC wanted to sell off his business as he wants to concentrate on his other businesses. The offer is quite attractive and hubby is thinking of buying over the business. His main concern is firstly the capital and secondly the business operating licence. He is not sure whether the business licence can be transfered to a Chinese from a Malay owned licence. If that can be done, a big problem is solved. As for the capital, he is thinking of using his credit cards. Of course, he has to apply to increase his credit card limit. Or maybe we will try and source out the capital from some place else.

We run an internet cafe but some people think that a shop that is filled with computers must sell computer accessories. Some even ask whether we sell micro sd card. The most common is pendrive.
So hubby was thinking maybe we should sell some computer accessories since we do provide computer repairs. But then the costs of buying all those accessories are quite high. Money, money. (sigh).

In 3 more months we will be celebrating Christmas. Celebrating the birth of our Saviour. This year, we might be celebrating Christmas in Ipoh if God permits. It is not that simple now to take leave and travel especially hubby has no assistant now. We pray that by then God will send someone trustworthy to work for us. Then I can start planning baking some Christmas cookies for my in laws in Ipoh.

As I was sitting at the internet cafe, my eyes wonder at the flags hanging down from the wall. I wish I am an artist and good at using air tools then I will definitely repaint hubby’s shop to create a better ambiance.
With another internet cafe opened nearby, many of his younger customers have gone to play there. But praise God that the effect is not so great that we are facing losses. I just hope God will send many more customers to our internet cafe.

Hubby just bought two HDMI cables for the shop. Okay, I have no idea what HDMI stands for. He told me that HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. Okay, that’s what it stands for but I still have no idea what it means. Hahaha, I am not into all these gadgets thing.
Hubby said that some of his customers brought in their handphone memory card so that they can download music files and transfer them into their handphone memory card. However, in order for them to do that, they would need to have the correct HDMI cable and a card reader. That’s why he bought the cables so that he can provide extra quality service to his customers. He wants his customers to be happy and become return customers. That is profit in long term for the business
