A Dog Called Brownie

For almost a month we are without any pet dog after he died of road accident. When there is no dog around, the left over food is wasted being thrown to the rubbish pit. So I started feeding 2 stray puppies; one is brown in colour and another is white with black spots. Brownie decided to hang around this house more often. The thing is with puppies, they like to bite shoes. When there is no puppies around the house, our shoes are saved to be put outside the house. Now, the moment you leave your shoe, they come and snatch it away to play with. Besides shoes, they have bitten the dog ramps, my trampoline and sit up chair. :(

My Canon is Dying in Me

Something has gone pretty wrong with my Canon camera. The macro function can’t work anymore; close up are blurry now and the battery runs out very fast. At first I thought it was the battery fault but when I pressed the battery compartment, the power came back again. The camera has dropped a few times so it is kinda expected that it will die soon. :( I hope it can still function as long as it could because I have no money to buy a new one. :(

Learning Piano

I play no musical instrument. I did learn how to play guitar but before I master it, I stopped. Then when I was in campus, I took a few piano lessons from one of my juniors in our Christian Fellowship but due to our busy schedule we stopped after a few lessons. When I was young, my parent couldn’t afford to send me to piano class. Looks like we can’t afford to send our children to any music class either. But we really hope that we could.

Hubby wants to buy 34″ TV!

On Monday, we were out sending our newborn to the hospital for blood test and on the way home we stopped by a few electrical shop to look for an electric oven. I did not manage to find the oven that I wanted but a 34″ LCD TV caught hubby’s attention. It was selling less than seven hundred ringgit. You guess it right; China brand that comes with one year warranty. I can bet with you that after a year, the TV will surely spoil. We experienced that before. With heavy heart, hubby bid farewell to that TV.

Seven Pounds

Have you watched the movie? It is directed by Gabriele Muccino. Will Smith stars as a man who sets out to change the lives of seven people. This is because he felt guilty of causing the death of 7 people, his fiancée is one of them when driving and talking on his cellphone. If he drinks and drives, I am sure he needs to hire the Massachusetts OUI Lawyer.

What he did was donating his organs to those people who really needs them and helped a lady with 2 children who is being abused by her boyfriend by giving them his beach house.

He donated 6 of his organs to 6 different people; lung lobe, liver, kidney, bone marrow, corneas and his heart. For the last 2 organs, he committed suicide in order for them to receive those organs.

This is the movie that I am watching right now while typing this post! For the past few days, hubby and I have been watching Heroes Season 3 but today, the episode that we wanted to watch, no one seeds in wTorrent. :( There are all together 25 episodes and we are down to episodes 20 onwards. So Seven Pounds for tonight.

Fruit Season

Our seasonal fruits are budding and in less than 3 months time we will be enjoying Durians, Rambutans and Mangosteen. However we can’t feast so much on these fruits because their are quite heaty if taken a lot. Eating too much of them will surely cause you to have sore throat and cough if not accompanied by drinking lots of water. Sometimes I do wish our tropical climate can allow Apricot trees, Apple tress, Peach tress, all kinds of Berries to grow. ;)

Saving the Memories

I love to take pictures. Okay, maybe not true. I like to take pictures. While I was still studying a decade ago, digital camera is rare and expensive. Back then you would have to use the SLR camera using the roll film. Usually one roll can take about 36 snapshots and then you send them to the photo shop to have them develop into hardcopies. I make sure that I keep the pictures in a safe place.

Now looking back at the old pictures, I can still remember what I did. It brings back good old memories.
Now that I have a digital camera, I would happily take snapshots and upload it to my computer. The problem is that I do not have the hardcopy of the pictures. It is all in softcopy, which unfortunately is very easy to get lost or deleted.

Shame on Me!

I just discovered that I do not know where the inlet to pour the engine lubricants is! And I have been driving for 10 years! And worked in a lubricant manufacturing company for 9 years!

2 days ago, I top-up the brake fluid and also checked the level of the engine lubricant. The level is half, meaning it i time to top up but I just didn’t know which cap to open to pour the lubricant in.

All this while I only top up the water for the radiator. Other than that, all done either by my dad, hubby or the mechanic!

And please don’t ask me what is coilovers? I will tell you that it is “someone who loves coils.”

Home Alone

When hubby was still working full time in church, I dread the day when he has to travel oversea. There was 3 different occasions where I was left at home while he went for his mission trip oversea. First time was when we were newly wed. That time I missed him terribly because I have to sleep all alone in our king size bed. Second time when I was pregnant during my last trimester. I was so worried that I will have to drive to the hospital all by myself to give birth. Third time, it was 3 days after I gave birth to my son; he flew to Philippines for 10 days! Thank God I did my confinement at my parent’s house; so he wasn’t needed that much. :P

Still Not Rented

Even the ground floor has been rented but not ours!

Am ranting about hubby’s apartment again. Student does not prefer ground floor because they are dirty. We were surprised to learn from the real estate agent that all 4 vacant ground floor apartment has all been rented.

Hubby had call yesterday and we were pretty convince that they will rent our apartment. We went to meet them but they have no cash to pay for the deposit yet. Told us that they will call today to inform me what time to meet them at the apartment to collect the deposit. When they left, I had the feeling that they will not call.

True enough, none of them call me.

We kinda gave up and will let the real estate agent help us out. Too tired driving there so many times and no deal. :(

Hubby’s Apartment is Cursed?

Hubby has been wondering the reason that it is so difficult to get his apartment rented even though the location is much better than my apartment. Many student called and viewed the apartment, some almost agreed but the next day, they decided not to rent it. Our price is the same as the rest but WHY no one wants to rent it???

Hubby figured that the last tenant might have cursed the apartment! Because we gave them hard time for not paying the utility bills that comes up to almost RM600! They are Malays you see.

We are praying that God will break the curse if any and bless us with good tenant soon.

A foreign student might want to view his apartment today. Please pray with us that he will rent it.

Reverse Phone Number Lookup

Let’s say you met someone over the chat room. After chatting over the internet for a while both of you exchange phone number. Then both of you started calling each other every night over the phone. How would you know that that person is for real? Don’t you want to check his/her background and where he/her stays?

Do you know that you could do that without their knowledge? Interesting right?

With the service provided by the National Phone Numbers, you can do Reverse Phone Number Lookup for any active U.S. telephone number. You not only can obtain that person real name and address but you will have access to detailed background information on almost every aspect of that person’s life!

He Runs

Is your husband a sportsman? Mine, almost every member in his family are athletic. In school, they are famous for long distance running. I guess the kampong lifestyle where they always run with the dogs to chase the rats out their paddy fields helped to increase their stamina. That is why you see those marathon runners are mostly from Africa. They run from place to place.

Dennis Carey; Founder of G100

It is always more interesting to know others weakness and negative sides. That is our human nature; we love to judge others and have that kind of “I am holier than thou” attitude. Dennis Carey is not spared from all this but let’s take look at his achievements; his strength, not his weakness.

Dennis Carey specializes in the recruitment of CEOs and corporate directors and recently joined Korn/Ferry International as Senior Client Partner.

Do you know that he founded G100? G100 is a private group of CEOs of the world’s most significant companies; top U.S. multinationals where they meet to exchange ideas. Membership is limited to approximately 100 active CEOs and is by invitation only.

That is only one of his achievements. He has authored numerous articles on corporate governance, director recruitment, board compensation, and business strategy related to spin-offs. He also has published three books: CEO Succession, The Human Side of M&A and How to Run a Company.

I believe with his extensive experience, credibility and global network; it will assist Korn/Ferry in capturing even greater market share at the highest levels of executive recruitment.

Trophy

I love playing softball and baseball. The only difference between these 2 sports is the way the ball is pitched. I used to have quite a number of baseball trophies from my secondary school but they are in the store room now or maybe they has been throw away.

I wonder when I get to Heaven I would receive any trophy. Anyway, that is not important. All I wanna here is “Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant.” :D So far I have a long way to go to receive that praise from God.

Looking 10 Years Younger

Hubby took out some photos of me from his wallet. He has four of them. One when I was 19yo, another when I was in 3rd year of university, then there is our wedding photo and my current passport photo. He said he likes my look when I was 19yo. Looks so innocence. Sure lar, I am very innocence then. Still am. :P

Now, I don’t like taking photograph of myself. I don’t like my look now. Sign of aging is very obvious. I wish I can look 10 years younger. Maybe I should give lipovox a try. Reviews has it that it has anti-aging properties, blood sugar-lowering and fat burning nutrients. So I will look younger and slimmer then. I wonder whether got side effect or not. Sekali after stop eating, I will look 20 years older! *faints*

Chow Yun Fatt Look Alike

chow yun fatt

Hubby said, at one glance, he looks like Chow Yun Fatt!

Maybe I should get him to dress up in the equestrian clothing and get him to post like the above. And then I shall post their photo side by side as really see whether they do look alike.

Since I first laid eyes on Chow Yun Fatt, he has been my favorite Hong Kong actor. Maybe that is the reason I got attracted to my hubby. Coz he look like Chow Yun Fatt!
