Fobia of Winding Roads

My girls are in Cameron Highland now. They were there since yesterday and will be back tomorrow. I called them every day; day and night! My mom told me that my eldest vomited twice on the way up there due to the winding roads. Just now I got a call from my eldest girl, almost in tears telling me that she is scared that she will vomit again tomorrow on the way down from Cameron Highland. The car that they are travelling in is as good as the fort lauderdale car rental but I guess she must be looking at the side view during the journey. I too will get dizzy when I look at the side so I told her that if she cannot sleep, to focus in front only and not to look at the side. My mom told me that they might let her sit beside BIL who is driving since my sister is sitting behind with her baby. After this, I doubt she would want to go Cameron Highland or Genting Highland again.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Good Morning World!

Nothing special on my birthday except the kitchen renovation started today which made me woke up early. I only had 6 hours of sleep. I hope I can stay awake during Harry Porter later this afternoon.

Still have no idea what my birthday lunch and dinner will be. Don’t think hubby prepare any surprise birthday gift for me. He does not know what I want and he won’t simply buy me things coz previous experience taught him not too! hahaha.

My children expected me to buy them a gift. I have not thought of what to buy for them. I need to save up to buy textbooks for next years. Not cheap as my soon to be 5yo son will be going to private kindy. His books alone is more than RM700. Two of his sisters will be in primary school and their books’ cost is only 10% of his!

Anyway, Happy Birthday To Me!

Sharing a Welding Machine

A welding machine is quite costly (at least to us) but we need to use it to fix the broken chairs at hubby’s shop. So, what hubby did was to share the cost of buying one with one of his brothers. So they take turn to use the welding machine since we don’t have broken chairs every day. :P The only item that hubby has not buy is the bifocal safety glasses. It will make his job so much faster with the “magnifying glass”. I wonder whether his brother wanna share to buy this one too. ;)

First Long School Holiday

Next week will be our real long school holiday. I can’t remember what happened during last year’s school holiday. We weren’t at the Outer Banks vacation rentals. I think I was home bound because my No.4 was still under 1yo. So, no vacation for us.

This time, I will surely feel the pressure of this long school break coz my eldest is going to Year 2, my 2nd girl to Year 1 and my firstborn son to kindy next year. Lots of preparation and 3 children at one go is sure gonna send me bonkers!

Don’t think we will be going for any holiday vacation though. I don’t have the energy to do that. ;)

All Souls Day

Today my girls were not in school because their school observes the All Souls Day. Only Catholic celebrates this day. And only some Catholic schools close on this day. So, I took this opportunity to bring my children out for an outing. The only place that is safe and convenient for me to bring my children age 1.5yo till 7yo is to McD at MP. We were there for 2 hours; they enjoyed their meals and then played till their heart content at the playground. Unfortunately, my 1.5yo had a colon cleanse the moment we arrived home; he purged 2-3 times! I think it is due to eating too much french fries. :(

Missing Christmas Tree

We need to start keeping a log book of the items left in this house by other family member. This is because, a Christmas tree went missing and none of us can remember who took it. All I can remember is, someone took it out from MIL’s room and brought it back but I can’t remember who is that someone. It could be this BIL or that BIL. The owner wants it back but don’t feel nice smsing the 2 “suspects” to ask whether the Christmas tree is with them. Hmmm…I better go check whether my cabin furniture is still in the store room. :P

Will She Be A Lawyer

My eldest often told us that she wants to be a doctor. It will be wonderful if that desire of hers come true because there is not doctor in our family yet. Looking at her maturing level and wisdom even at 7yo, I got the feeling that she might follow after her daddy’s footstep; she might be a Mesothelioma lawyer one day. Whatever vocation that she chose, we will fully support her.

No Christmas Gathering

This year, there will be no Christmas gathering in Melaka because our main organiser is spending Christmas in their hometown. It is going to be yet another quite Christmas this year with no xmas decorations or party. Hubby suggested that we drive up north to celebrate Christmas with them. Errrmmmm…I don’t think it is advisable with my current health condition and 4 young children.

Do I Need A Maid?

I wash, dry, fold and iron my own bajus.
I prepare milk for my children.
I bathe my boys and the girls can bathe by themselves.
We take lunch and dinner at my mom’s.
I put them to bed.

The only time when I need the maid is when hubby and I wanna go dating. Her job is to make sure they go to bed by 9.30pm and for someone to be at home besides MIL when we are gone.

The only time when my children will call for Kakak is when they need someone to switch on the light for them, accompany them to the toilet and someone to listen to their chatters.

I don’t see why we need to pay more than others. Having her around should be a blessing for us coz we are here to take care of her and MIL.

How Do We Afford to Live with Only One Income

A friend of mine asked me how do I decide to take the bold step to become a SAHM and living on a single income. All of us have so many financial commitments; homeloan, car loan, insurance, fees, utilities, petrol etc. To me, I was in a way forced to resign and be a SAHM because my No.3 does not want other people to mind him and to send all 3 to nursery cost half of my salary that was less than 2.5k; so it is more practical to just resign and mind them myself.

We have to live by our means; meaning do away with luxuries and live a simple life. I know most parents work for their children education fund but not us. Let them find their way like we did. Our parents did not have any education fund for us but we still managed to graduate with a degree and get a good job.

As a SAHM, we can get some income if we can find the time to do so. As for me, I might not have the time to be a Wholesale Insurance agent but I learn some skill like sewing and managed to sell a few bags which is sufficient to invest in some books for my children. Knowledge can bring them further than money you know. ;)

Will This Be Our Last Meal Together?

Tomorrow, hubby will be flying to KK for a mission trip in Pitas. The children insisted that they want to have KFC for dinner. I pestered hubby to just bring them there before he leaves them for 4 days. KFC is hubby’s favorite fast food. But today, he did not order his usual dinner plate; he ate his mom’s homecooked meal instead. This is something unusual of him. He jokingly said that this is something out of the ordinary. Maybe this will be our last meal together. Throughout the dinner, we chatted about where to throw his cremated body and that he does not write any will yet! To him it was a joke but what if that is really our last meal???

Family Weekend Vacations

This year, if God willing we will leave our hometown 3 times to go a weekend vacation. This will be a record breaker. Since I am married to my husband, we never get to leave our hometown more that twice a year due to his busyness with church and work.

Our family weekend vacation to Genting Highland is confirmed. We will be up there end of this month. This weekend vacation is sponsored by my dear advertisers. ;) I have been saving up my USD for this trip for quite a while. :)

I was just telling hubby that after his mission trip to Sabah this September, we should make a weekend trip to Cameron Highland to visit a missionary family there. We have been telling them that we will visit since they left Kupang and started serving in Cameron Highland. This year is the best time coz come next year, we will be homebound.

So I suggested we go in October so that I can have time to accumulate my online income for this trip. At first I thought this weekend vacation will be cheaper than Genting coz we do not have to pay for accommodation coz we will be staying in their house but hubby said otherwise. We need to spend double that our Genting trip. Oh! The other half is to give them as love offering. A VERY expensive accommodation! I don’t think I will have enough for the other half and that I have to leave to hubby. :P

Last night, hubby suggested that we sign up for church camp which will be held this August. We will have the church camp at Port Dickson. Yippie! Another family weekend vacation for us. :D

We Need To Start Saving, Dear

Our family is growing, our children are growing. It is high time that we start setting aside a sum of cash every month to be deposited into our savings account rather than wait till we have extra then only we save.

When I was working, I did the savings for our family but when I resigned, hubby did not continue this good habit because we barely have enough every month. In the end most of my savings went into his business and also our monthly expenses.

Now that God has blessed us with enough, we should start saving again for our children education. Since we will be homeschooling, chances to obtain a scholarship is very slim. So, we must work hard and start saving now. We must postpone buying electronic cigarette for my dad for his birthday this year. ;) We will advice him to stop smoking instead so that he can live longer on this earth. :)

Family or Church

Sunday is the only day that we get to be together as a family the whole day. Sunday is the only day that we can have lunch and dinner with hubby. Sunday is the only day that our children can have their daddy.

Sunday is also church day and the only day that hubby can fellowship with other church members. On other days, hubby will be at work from morning till night. He will have his tapau-ed food from home for lunch and dinner.

I don’t mind if the church takes away my hubby once or twice a month on Sunday but not 2 weeks in a row and for lunch and dinner on the same day. You want him but we NEED him.

I guess the choice is hubby’s. He got to be wise in choosing between his family and church.

Movie Night

MIL and her maid is back. According to SIL, they are back for good but I am not jumping for joy yet. Anything can happened within these few months before the maid return to her country for good.

Since Sunday is the only day that hubby is at home the whole day and night, I took this opportunity to go for a movie with hubby while our children is being babysat by MIL and her maid.

When you have a baby that still breastfeeds, timing is very important. Must choose a movie that starts before 8pm so that I can be home by 10.30pm for my baby next feed.

So last Sunday night, we managed to watch The Prince of Persia show at 7.55pm. No movie night for us this coming Sunday though coz MIL and her maid are going to another BIL’s house for a visit. Hmmmm…maybe we can. My mom is around. hehehehe.

Wrinkle Reducer

Child minding 6 children does have its side effects. I think I am developing more wrinkles and high blood pressure. It is easy to mind my own children because I have disciplined them since young to be obedient. I also thank God for blessing me with such obedient children. Prayer really works. Unfortunately, my nieces are the ones that makes my blood boils every day when they are here. Their parents did not discipline them at all and let them have their way. Reason given by my brother, “They are young, they don’t know what they are doing. They will behave when they grow older.” It will be too late to mold them when they grow older!

So, while they are here, I try to discipline them my way but I think I really need one wrinkle reducer right now. Very stressful you know. If you want to sponsor one for me, I will take the prototype 37c. It has the perfect blend of powerful anti-aging ingredients to help your skin repair, rejuvenate, and protect your skin.

Promised Kept

The family maid came back from her 1 month holiday. Everyone thought that she will not return coz her daughter was very sick. I believe God has healed her daughter and she needs to come back here to earn for the cost spent at during her daughter’s hospitalization.

She will be back here with MIL this weekend. As much as I am comfortable with her not being here, the outdoor needs her badly. Verandah and car porch to wash, windows to wipe, leaves to rake and the wet kitchen needs cleaning from the rat poo.

As a reward, maybe I’ll buy e cigarette for her but she can only smoke when she goes back to Indonesia. :P

Resigned from Being A Cook; Almost.

Starting this month, I have resigned from cooking lunch and dinner for my family; more for hubby actually. Reason being, my almost 1yo baby wakes up earlier now which prevented me from cooking. When he wakes up, he wants his nen-nen and 90% of the time, I will doze off again for about an hour. By the time, I woke up, hubby needs to leave for work already. When hubby is not around, no one is there to help me look after baby while I cook and I can’t cook with a baby hanging around me at the wet kitchen; let’s say that the wet kitchen is not safe for baby. ;)

Since my children and I have our dinner at my mom’s almost everyday and she always have left-over food, I suggested that she cook for all of us for lunch and dinner too. She can save money coz I will be giving her extra allowance for the food and there will not be wastage anymore. As for me, I have more time to clean my house, more time for my baby and more online time. I can even do healthcare job search if you want me too. ;) As for hubby, he is enjoying good food and more varieties everyday.

I said “Almost” because, I still need to cook for my children’s breakfast.

Rude

That is what my 2nd daughter commented when I told her the reason I was crying yesterday. “Daddy is very rude for not telling you that he is going to botak (bald) Baby’s hair eh.”

I am still very upset and very angry. :( Not because our 11mo baby is bald now but his action of secretly balding our baby’s hair without my knowledge.

What else he would do secretly?

I cried buckets yesterday until my mattress is all soak with my tears but the anger still did not want to go away.

Today, hubby pretended like nothing happened! He ALWAYS thinks that he is right. And he will NEVER apologise.

Can I Get Mad?

I am PMSing again and it falls on the wrong day; Saturday, the day I hate the most. I felt like throwing a heavy industrial equipment on anyone that steps on my foot!

Due to much washing, my right index finger cracked again. It feels like a knife slicing through it when I use that finger. I can’t get all my housework done as planned.

Thank God Baby is kind to me today. He napped for 2 hours and so did I. At least that cools me down a lot.
