Aug 4

I have been sleeping early for the past few days and that piled up my work. So here am I at hubby’s internet cafe blogging away. Since today is Monday, it is sure a busy day especially people coming to photocopy, print and fax. Hubby asked me to help with the photocopy and I wasted 94 pages! I think he better let me stick with blogging.

He even left the shop for half an hour to go out for lunch with his friend, leaving his wife in hunger. If got the LCD HDTV, at least watching some love and comedy movies would divert my attention from food! He came back empty handed!

munchies

Well, I will just continue munching my Jacob’s Hi-Cal Vegetables biscuit and cup after cup of Boh Peppermint Tea.

Making Love Again

Yes, after more than 6 months I finally made love again.

egg

This love can be eaten one. What were you thinking arh??? :P

When I see that the maid just reheat yesterday’s food, gua tak sampeh hati mo kasi laki gua makan lauk semalam. So the quickest way to provide him with some fresh dish is to fry egg. Since I just received my Heart Shape Fried Egg Mould, I gave it a try.

It didn’t turn out nice because the non-stick pan is not flat; it curves a lil bit so the egg white flown out from the mould. Time to buy a new non stick pan. :)

Yesterday we went to watch Hancock. It was a good decision to bring me away from my laptop for a few hours. I was too stressed up over the uncertainties of my online job.

This time around I picked GSC instead of MBO because I miss their Caramel Popcorn. Much to my surprise, the ticket price is only RM7 compared to MBO RM9 for new movie.

The only scene in Hancock that I really LOL is the part where he was testing whether Mary Embrey is as strong as him. Poking her with the big fork, hitting her head with the roller etc.

Being that strong, it is impossible to poke a needle through their skin to get some blood for DNA testing to find out what made them the way they are.

Craving for Beef Steak
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Food | icon4 06 19th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

I love my beef and since I found a restaurant in my hometown that serve good beef steak and I anticipating to dine there again. Since tonight is our dating night, I am thinking to satisfy my craving.

beef steak

Hubby is telling me to try find a good beef steak recipe and cook them myself coz it is very costly to eat beef steak outside. I shall and, I learn that to get a well done beef steak, I need to cook them 5 mins each side at 170′F. I wonder whether that is pan fry or grilling time. Anyone?

Lunch with Aunty Grace
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Food, Friendship | icon4 06 13th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

We had lunch with Aunty Grace at Hot & Spicy Restaurant just now. Last week, we were supposed to bring Uncle George and Aunty Grace for lunch but Aunty Grace couldn’t make it because she had knee pain. So we went out with Uncle George only and made another appointment for lunch with both of them today. Unfortunately, Uncle George is not on top of his health today and we ended up going out with Aunty Grace alone. She is the one who gave us the crib bedding after I got my first child.

We had a good time of fellowship with Aunty Grace. We are planning for another lunch or dinner appointment with both of them one day. :D Love chatting with them.

piglet

Yummy and Crispy and Fattening!!!

This is one of the reasons that I would attend a Chinese Wedding in a restaurant beside getting to wear my vegan shoes. You don’t get this dish if the wedding dinner  is held in a hotel; non-Halal. ;)

Other that this dish, I love the Cold Dish and Sharks Fin soup which are kinda expensive if we were to order them by the bowl. Since we are paying so much for this dinner, better go for the expensive dishes. :D

Anniversary Dinner
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Food | icon4 05 16th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

We had our anniversary dinner at Le Garden Restaurant in Carrefour building. It was a very early dinner, around 6pm because I was starving after the massage.

mango

Mango and Plum Ice Blended.

Very nice, must try if you go there.

mee

Curry Mee

Hubby ordered their set lunch; RM9.90 nett. Yes they still have set lunch for dinner! The set lunch consist of Curry Mee; very tasty, Ice Lemon Tea; kaw-kaw one and dessert.

dessert

This is the dessert. I laughed when it was served. So stingy. Only a tiny piece of watermelon and 2 puddings. The waitress smiled when I took out my camera to take a shot of it.

And this is my dinner…

beef

Black Pepper Sirloin Steak; RM35.90

Now I know where to go to get thick beef steak and very tasty too. Sorry lar, I am not good at describing food. It is nice, then all is tasty to me. =P

satay celup

That’s what we had on our dating night on Thursday. Dunno why hubby suddenly crave for Satay Celup.

We had those at Jalan Ong Kim Wee. They have 3 shops that sells Satay Celup now. Always go for the 1st shop; that’s the original shop. The other 2 shops are for spill over. Not from the same owner. I never try the other 2 shops but I heard they are not as good as the first. The 3rd shop look very nice, like those modern cafe but no customer there! So, don’t be deceive by the appearance.

We didn’t talk much during the makan…all hands, eyes, mouth and thoughts are so focus on the Satay Celup. We also did not discuss whether we should consider buying burial insurance. Btw, in Malaysia got such insurance meh?

So I ended up eating more than what I usually ate. I ate 20 sticks of the Satay Celup! My usual is 15 sticks only. Once we arrived home, I made a cup of slimming Chinese Tea.

Wednesday Night Out
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Food, Love | icon4 05 1st, 2008| icon33 Comments »

Today should be our night out but hubby will be working night shift. So we brought forward our dating night yesterday. Actually we are supposed to meet a friend at Nando’s JJ but she forgotten that she has other appointment. So we go dating elsewhere and ended up at Mahkota Parade. After walking around, we decided to hop over to Dataran Pahlawan to have our Steamboat dinner at Johnny’s.

Our dinner:

steamboat
Steamboat is steaming hot.

rice
Belacan Fried Rice. Remind me not to order rice again. The rice is so hard, like not fully cook like that. :(

water chesnut
For Dessert; Water Chessnut with stripe of Jack Fruit in Coconut Milk.

chocz
To help me stay awake to burn the midnight oil to blog about this. RM18.50 for 6 only. Super expensive!!!

tea
A cup of Slimming Tea each to flush out all the fats. I went to toilet after drinking 3 cups of it!!! :D

I hope I won’t need any acne treatments for eating 2 prawns, belacan (dried shrimp) and those sinful chocolates.

Spontaneity
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Fun, Life, Food, Marriage | icon4 04 11th, 2008| icon32 Comments »

Being spontaneous.

That’s why we did tonight. All we know that Thursday is our night out. We did not plan on how to spend the night. All I know is, I wanted to eat Ikan Bakar.

So we drove all the way to Padang Temu and had our Ikan Bakar at Muara Sg. Duyung. It was raining so, a walk at the beach after dinner is not possible.

Hubby suggested for us to catch a movie. So to Mahkota Parade we went and we watched Escape from Huang Shi, a story based on true life story about a man named George Hogg that lead 60 Chinese orphaned boys to safety from the Japanese army.

I like spontaneity. It’s fun. :D

Time to go sleep beside my son. I promised him that before I left him with the maid. ;)

seoul garden

I made a promise that this will be my last full to the brim dinner. After tonight, I will be on diet and start exercising…I hope!

Everytime when I passes by the Seoul Garden restaurant when I go to Mahkota Parade, I told myself, when I have slightly more money one day, I would dine there. Praised God for His blessing.

The food was good. We enjoyed the Coffee Chicken but I regretted buying the free flow drink at RM3.99++ a cup (bought 2 cups) on top of the RM23.99++ buffet dinner because they have ABC and ice-cream. No need water also can. ;)

Unless they serve red wine which has the Resveratrol that is known for protecting our body against cancer and cardiovascular disease by acting as an antioxidant, antimutagen, and anti-inflammatory.

Well, we agreed that buffet is not conducive if you plan to have quality conversation because most of the time, we will be cooking and making sure that the food does not get burnt and what to eat next. :)

Feb 15

We dressed in our most comfortable clothes. Me in my baby T and jeans and him in his slack and T-shirt. Then we head to a Malay warong near the beach. Yes, we dine in a warong. Not romantic at all right? Hehehe. Romance can wait later. ;)

Main thing, we get our food quick and we don’t have to queue for parking or even to get into the restaurant.

We ordered our favorite.

ayam

Ayam Golek; grilled chicken. Something similar to Kenny Roger’s Roaster but kampong style.

john

Roti John. I love soaking the sardines coated bread in the chili sauce before savoring it.

tomyam

Tomyam Bee Hoon. Hot and Sour, a very good appetizer.

Half of the Roti John has to be packed and take away. Too much food for us to finish.

Then we head to the nearest supermarket to get a bottle of lotion and bathroom lights. What did we do with it? “It” is the lotion, not the lights. :P That is for us to remember and for you to wonder. :P

Supper
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Food | icon4 01 26th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

Often times when I am hungry at night, I would love to go out for supper. This normally happens when I have a lot of blogs’ posts to write or I had taken only a light dinner before that. I would ask my husband to follow along and we would hop into our car and drive around to find the food stall. However, there are limited choices here in my hometown to find good food at night.

After 12 midnight, the place is virtually quiet. Yes, there are certain places where some shops are still open and these places would normally be crowded. Unfortunately these places are far from my house. It is not worth going so far for just a piece of roti canai and a cup of teh tarik. Haha…now you know the food of my choice for supper.

Sometimes I do wish that the place where I stay would offer various things for me to do during the night. It would be great to experience a night life like San Diego night life where everything is just like the day or sometimes even better. For the time being, I had to be satisfied with what this place has to offer.

Prosperity

prosperity

We went to McD to celebrate the prosperity that God is going to bless us with. I had my favorite Prosperity Burger.

 I am just kidding on the celebrating part. I just wanted to eat the Prosperity Burger.

We are expecting God’s blessing especially in the business.

We are doing what most internet cafe owner wouldn’t do on Sunday. We are closed on Sunday. To honour God.

By closing on Sunday, we are going to “loose” a minimum of RM800 a month and that is a huge amount for us but we are trusting that God will provide. He always does. I know that. ;)

Note: Do you know that mesothelioma is an asbestos-caused cancer?

ABC, Rojak & Laksa
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Food, Love | icon4 12 21st, 2007| icon3No Comments »

It is great having a maid and MIL (to keep an eye on the maid) around.

We can go dating often!

Yesterday was a public holiday. We brought our children for a short picnic at the beach. We had our afternoon nap after that but not the children, when we woke up, the children nap. So we took this opportunity to go out dating. :)

Since I did not have my lunch and I love eating cold stuff on a rainy day. The first thing that came to my mind was the Ice Cream or ABC (Air Batu Campur ~ Grated Ice with Syrup, Milk, Corn, Jelly and Red Beans). So we went to our one and only solely ABC shop that runs by Chinese near my place. The shop has been there since my parent’s dating days! They even have Danze fauctes at their wash area.

sunday

Whenever I eat there, I would remember my mom telling me that that shop is where my dad would bring her when they went out dating and she craves for the ABC almost every week when she was pregnant with me. :)

Now I wonder whether it will still be around when my children starts dating. hehe.

Here was what we had:

Ice Corn with Attap Seed for me. The corns and the seed is hidden under the ice.
corn

Their specials: No 1. Surprise: Finding Treasure for Hubby. But the treasure were not hidden. You can see them at the top!
surprise

And the only 2 Non-Ice served at the shop.

Rojak Kangkong
rojak

and Melaka Nyonya Laksa
laksa

Honestly, their food is nothing to shout about but we are left with no choice when you crave for their ABC and hungry at the same time. Another option is to pack back their ABC which we often do when spending quality time with each other is not our top priority. :)

No French Beans For Him
icon1 Michelle | icon2 Food | icon4 12 5th, 2007| icon34 Comments »

After living with him for almost 7 years yesterday I just realized that he does not like eating French Beans. All this while he told me that he eats almost everything that is edible and clean (no unclean food except pork). So I never make an effort to observe his likes and dislikes because he eats almost every food.

vege

I cook Ayam Masak Merah and Stir Fried French Beans and Sweet Pea with fishballs for dinner last night. I was kind of disappointed that he ate very little even though he said that the chicken dish tasted fine. Hardly touch the veggie but ate the fishballs. I am so unmotivated to cook again.

If hubby really wants me to cook again, I must request him to write love letters that will fill my mailboxes, then I might consider. :P

Thanks Amidrin for this interesting tag. This tag reminds me of the many occasion where I eat food with flies in them! If I drink Jura capresso, I will experience giddiness and perspire due to caffeine. If you eat food with flies in them, you will definitely have diarrhea but not me. Praise God for that because I believe when you say your grace before meal and not forgetting to ask God to sanctify you food, you are spare from making the toilet your home that day.

Copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those that you like. (Check out especially the * starred ones.) Share one of your own health tip (tip on how to be more healthy) with others. Try to make your tip short but informative. Tag at least 2 person.

1. *Be happy - Everyday health and beauty
2. *Be contented with what God Bless us - chanelwong
3. *Be faithful - Ruth
4. *Laugh a lot - Chinnee

6. *Always think positive - MummyInVain
7. *Sleep early and drink more water - Lemonjude
8. *Go to the dentist every six month - Amidrin
9. *Never forget to ask God to sanctify your food before eating - Michelle

I like everyone’s tip, so I starred all. :D

Let’s hear get some tips from this young and pretty doctor, Alicia and someone who love food so much, Yit Har.

Nov 21

I think most of us have heard the saying, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” If that is true, I have lost my way. Even though I have a few cookbooks, time has not permitted me to try the recipes in them. Most of the times I am just plain lazy to cook when I think of the oiliness and the washing that needs to be done after cooking.

Thank God that my husband is not so particular about food. Even though I do not have a picky husband when it comes to food, as long as there is chili in the dish, he will be a happy man. He does express his love more when I took the effort to cook for him.

So this saying does not apply to me. :P
