It had been a tough couple of years since my dad passed away. The sudden shock of it left me suffering from the ripple effect. Waves of every emotion shook through me for the first year and still to this day. As the old saying “Timing heals everything” echoed in my head, I took a leap of faith it was true and decided to turn my childhood home into a cabin getaway. The Charlotte property was a comfortable distant trip of two hours away from our home and the setting was peaceful and private. My husband set out to remodel what was necessary and we kept my dad’s vegetable garden in the back as a memory to him. We had the cabin completed just before the November chill set in. We decided to check direct tv charlotte and decided a basic package was perfect for a vacation home. Besides, the plans I had for my upcoming visits to our cozy place had very little to do with watching tv, but I did have kids and a husband to think about. If they need me, I’ll be in the garden!

Oh ya! I forgot to mention that we went for a family holiday 2 days before my birthday.

We were at Tiara Beach Resort, Port Dickson.
Even though I did not get to play in the water coz I have to take care either one of my babies, I am very happy to see the rest of my family members enjoying themselves. And I got the rest that I long for. No waking up to the thoughts of house chores to rush too and what to cook.

I had what I wanted for my 37th birthday. I went for my long overdue facial spa in the morning.

Cake cutting with my love ones.

And BBQ + Steamboat with hubby for dinner.
A simple and yet fulfilling birthday.

The month of December is packed with wedding invitations. Our gas supplier told my MIL that he received more than 10 wedding invitation. My dad has to ask my sister for some cash because he does not have enough money to put in the wedding invitation red packet. Weddings = money.
I just read in FB that one of my friend’s friend had their wedding in Bali. That’s romantic. Wedding by the beach. Not any beach but Bali beach. I wonder whether any of them is rich enough to have their wedding in the Caribbean. The weddings in barbados looks pretty romantic too. And the weather is cooler unlike our tropical climate.

It is December already and I have 2 weeks to buy a Christmas present for one of my nephews. We are going to have a Pre-Christmas celebration a week before Christmas because everyone can be gather under one roof on that day. There will be gift exchange among the children and my children are too small to go shop for Christmas present for their cousins. I have no problem buying Christmas present for the smaller children and teenage girls but what do you buy for a teenage boy who has almost everything a teenage boys want. The only thing that he does not has and long to own one is a puppy but I heard that his mom do not allow him to have one as a pet. I wonder whether he is still interested in RC cars.

If you are wondering how to get longer eyelashes the natural way, this is what I did. I PRAY!
Both hubby and I did not have long eyelashes. I wanted my children to have long and curl eyelashes so I pray throughout my pregnancy that God will bless my children with long and curl eye lashes. God is good. He answered my prayer. I have 5 children. No.1 have long and curl eyelashes. No.2 does not have long eyelashes but hers curl up. No.3 have long eyelashes with no curl. No.4 has longer eyelashes than No.1 and curl too; and he is a boy! No.5’s eyelashes are still growing, no comment about it yet.

I have not been receiving any letters for the past few days. This is out of the norm. Mr. Postman sends letter to my house almost every day. I was thinking that maybe Mr. Postman applied for an extended Hari Raya Haji holiday and they couldn’t find a replacement for him. But then yesterday I saw a postman sent letter to my front neighbour. Could he be a new postman? Could it be that he can’t see my house number on my house plaque?
I am waiting for one of my credit card bills which is due by 27th. If I still don’t receive the bill by 23rd, looks like I have to call the credit card company to check on my outstanding balance then go make one of those huge house plaques. Just in case my new Mr. Postman is short-sighted.

Last Sunday, I heard 2 mothers talking about how unromantic their husband are. One of the received a “Thank You” from her husband when she told him “I love You.” And the other got ignored, her “I love You” fell on deaf ears. Thank God my husband does not fall in that category. They commented that most Asian husband are not romantic. Maybe I should talk to her husband and get him to surprise her with a thank you gift instead of just saying “Thank You” to her “I Love You”. You can send thank you gift fast through Berries. A basket of chocolate can anytime melts a woman’s heart.

I am not fond of sunglasses because I am wearing spectacles. Clip-on does not look cool. Prescription sunglasses are quite costly. What-do-you-call the huge sunglasses you wear over your specs is not comfy. Of late the sun is not being too friendly to my eyes. His ray is too glaring and hurts my eyes. I have no choice but to buy a polarized clip-on. Well, not bad looking but not as cool Bolle’s sunglasses.

Last week, we finally went for a movie with our boys; Real Steel. Since it is not a box office movie, the movie ticket only cost RM7 for adult and RM5 for children. It is a movie worth watching more than once. I like their robots. They can really create such unique robot. I think some parts they used metal hose. My 2.5yo boy got very excited when they started fighting. I think he kicked and punched the front chair a few times. Thank God he didn’t get scolded by the boy sitting in that chair. And now, he is very much interested in robot toys. As for my firstborn son, he’s cool about it. He is more interested in the robot dance. Didn’t talk much about the movie or wanted to fight like robot like his younger brother. Both my sons have opposite personality.

All of us have blind spot. Life has been very busy since the family maid left. Most of my time is occupied with my newborn baby, my toddler, 2 school going girls and house chores.. Least that we realised, we have been neglecting our 5yo son. Since he is already 5yo, he is a big boy to us and we thought he does not need much of our attention.
Lately, he prefers to stay with my parents and often tell my mom that we don’t love him. A few days ago, one of our BILs commented that he is very “far off”. That got us on our feet. Every child need our attention. No matter whether they are at whatever age in their life.
For a start, as a gesture of our apology, hubby suggested to bring him for a movie. Just him without his sisters. Unfortunately, my thrifty hubby changed his mind after looking at the ticket prices. Since when the price increased from RM10 to RM12? If the 3 of us go, enough to buy the original VCD. So, no movie day out with our first born son.

I think that not only one of the best reasons to have a kid is to bring in a new life into the world, but also all of the first that you get to share with your child. Right now I’m enjoying having my first child and experiencing first holidays with her, including Halloween to start off the first holidays. I know that she doesn’t know what’s going on but it’s also so exciting for us!
I decided that we should all dress up together as a family theme for this costume party that my sister’s throwing for her kids. So I looked online with my wireless internet Killeen to find some ideas about what be good for it and I came up with the idea of us dressing up like counting sheep.
I thought that it would be incredibly easy to dress up in white sweat suits. Plus, it’s very friendly for me because I’m still not quite down to my pre-pregnancy body yet. So we just went and bought some white sweat suits and then also some fabric to make the numbers on our suits as the actual counting numbers.

My daughters asked me how much is an iPad. I told them the price. They knew we cannot afford to buy one for her. They saw a contest in one of the magazine that their school subscribed for them. The 2nd prize is an iPad. They are so excited about it and hoping that they will win 2nd price. 1st prize is a laptop; they are not interested in it, it is out of trend! Wait till they see this new blackberry tablet. I am sure they will start dreaming to own this Playbook instead. It is cuter and smaller than iPad.

In about 1.5 months, both hubby’s sister and their family who are residing overseas will be return home for a short holiday. It is going to be 7 years since all 11 of them plus their family gather under one roof and one nation. In our last family photo, I am still holding my 2nd daughter whom I just gave birth 2 weeks before the photo shoot. She is going to be 7 years old by the time they comes back.
Even though they are leaving a few days before Christmas, we will still celebrate an early Christmas with everyone. I must start saving up my paypal balance to buy Christmas pressie for them. I wonder what will be the xmas gifts for her, hubby’s sister who reside in UK. She had quite a hard life since she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Must think of something that will bring sparks in her eyes.

My 8mo can really sweat. When she was on 100% breastmilk, the spot where she laid her head will surely be damp. Recently I have started her on formula milk. On some nights where the temperature is warm, her pyjamas will be soaking wet even with the ceiling fan spinning at no.4. The only way to cool her down is to switch on the a/c for her. On normal nights, we will get damp pyjamas like she is sleeping on a heated mattress pad.
She also finds it hard to sleep right after drinking formula milk. So what we do is, we let her drink her milk topless then switch on the a/c to cool her down. Once she has cooled down, then only we wear the pyjamas for her and I’ll nurse her to sleep. If not, I will be nursing her from left, right and to the left again and still she can’t fall asleep. I’ll then hand her to her daddy to be carried outside to sleep on his shoulder. Thank God we found the reason to her “amnesia”.

Read this… (taken from here)
Never before in my life have I seen any girl who adores me like she did. It was just awesome to look in her eyes and see such deep adoration coming out and finding its way to my eyes. Even my love partner did not have such deep adoration for me (or maybe I’ve forgotten of the times when she did). She would look at me with her round (or maybe sepet abit) eyes and with the sparkle in her eyes fix her gaze on me for a few seconds before giving me the sweetest smile of joy that melts my heart instantly. Ah… such blessings from God. Thank you Rebekah for you adoration to daddy.
I felt jealous each time my baby girl did that! Can u imagine that! This mommy is jealous of her own flesh and blood. I think it is because she is able to adore her daddy that much and I can’t. Anyway, I am happy now. She stopped adoring her daddy already. I mean she loves looking at her daddy but that adoring look is no longer there. Notti eh, me? hehe.

When we have to pay credit card interest, it means that we are very tight financially. We do not have enough cash to pay for all our bills. In times like this, it sucks to just depend on one person income. In times like this how I wish I can go back to work, get one of those Desk Clerk Jobs also can.
Dear Lord, please let someone rent my apartment by 1st October 2011. We do not have extra RM750 every month to pay for our homeloan and maintenance fee.
Dear Lord, please let MBMB pay me back the tax that I wrongly paid to their account by today. We really need the cash.

I like this quote that hubby post on his FB wall…
“Fall in love with someone who deserves your heart, not someone who plays with it.”

Due to the advancement in science and technology, designer drugs are starting to tear families and communities apart across America. One of them is the Bath Salt. It can be taken by snorting, smoking or reduced to liquid for injection just like cocaine. It gives the user a hallucinogenic high (which comes with a side of extreme paranoia and raging anger). According to various reports from around the country, the Bath Salt craze is reaching epidemic proportions and very few addiction experts are familiar with the compound or how to treat the addiction.
At present, Malibu Horizon is the leader in treating bath salt abuse addiction rehab treatment. If you know of anyone seeking treatment for bath salt abuse, do recommend them to Malibu Horizon.
